"Best of the West" make up a partnership for the future. Our
partnership of the Land-Grant universities, and the USDA generates new
knowledge, communicates that knowledge to those who need it, and
continually educates new generations.
The partnership of Land-Grant Universities, regional colleges, the
U.S. Department of Agriculture and other funding agencies is designed
to generate new knowledge, transfer that knowledge to those who need
it, and continually educate new generations. Western Land-Grant
Universities and regional colleges are located in Alaska, American
Samoa, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada,
New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
USDA’s Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service
collaborates closely with these institutions as they create solutions
to problems and answers to questions faced by western citizens,
communities and businesses–in water quality, food safety, forestry,
youth development, family and consumer issues, agricultural
competitiveness, community economic development and other critical
issues...the Land-Grant partnership makes a difference; it is science
and education at work.
At the beginning of each year, institutions in the partnership submit
information about the impact of their research, teaching and extension
programs on the needs and problems of the public. This is Impact;
science and education at work for you. |
