This research provides a better understanding of unique processes in insects that have the potential to be exploited for insect control. It is impossible to predict with any degree of accuracy to what extent this new understanding would lead to new and or improved insect control techniques, but, based on past history, it is likely that one or more of the dozens of processes insect scientists are studying will lead to new and or improved insect control techniques.
