Application Procedure

Note: Please click here for applications for the 2010 Fellowship.
Step 1: Application to identify a host Note: Applicants who already have hosts can skip to Step 2
Candidates who do not have a United States- or Canada-based EWRI/ASCE host may submit a pre-application to identify a possible host. The pre-application must be submitted by 17 August 2009. The VIF will make every effort to match applicants with hosts. However, we do not guarantee that an appropriate host will be found. Candidates are encouraged to contact colleagues and peers to identify a host on their own.
Potential United
States- or Canada-based EWRI/ASCE hosts will contact those candidates who have
compatible technical and cultural activity interests.
If a match is found, the United States- or Canada-based EWRI/ASCE host
must submit the full application form on behalf of the candidate by the
17 September 2009 6 October 2009 deadline (see Step 2 below).
Step 2: Visiting International Fellowship application
Applicants and hosts should
work together to complete the fellowship application. The application must be
submitted by the host (a United States- or Canada-based EWRI/ASCE
member*) by 17 September 2009 6 October 2009.
The following information must be provided as completely as possible for the application to be considered by the committee:
Contact information for applicant and host
Biographical information for applicant
Abstract for technical paper to be presented at conference (must also be separately submitted to the EWRI Conference website*)
Descriptions of 2-3 days of technical and cultural exchange activities that will occur outside of the conference, including a note on how the exchange will promote sustained collaboration
Financial information: applicants must include a cost estimate and descriptions of how costs not covered by the fellowship will be covered (the fellowship will not be sufficient to cover all travel costs)
The
full application must be submitted by the host
along with an abstract of the paper to be presented at the conference by
17 September 2009 6 October 2009 to:
