International Council
Activities
The Council organizes seminars outside as well as within North America to discuss environmental and water management issues of mutual interest. The Council examines questions of interest to international members of ASCE/EWRI and of North American members interested in working overseas. A current project is "Crossing Boundaries: How Engineers Can Participate in Tranboundary Environmental Management in Mexico, Canada, and the USA" (contact Mark Killgore for more information). The Council also hosts biennial international informal seminars on water and environmental issues. Recent seminars included Merida in March 2006 (contact Jack Day for more information); Hawaii in March 2004 (contact Jack Day for more information); and Berlin and Dresden in September 2002 (contact Walter Lyon for more information).
The Council sponsors the EWRI Visiting International Fellowship. For general information about the Fellowship, click here.
