Surveying along the river Restoration Of Cutthroat Trout In The Lower Truckee River: The Ecology Of A Reintroduced Fish
This project is designed to aid the restoration of Lahontan cutthroat trout (LCT), a federally endangered species, to the Lower Truckee River watershed. The Lower Truckee River provides connectivity between Pyramid Lake, NV and Lake Tahoe, CA, which historically supported a trophy sport fishery with LCT reaching up to 30 lbs. Continuous habitat between Lakes Tahoe and Pyramid allowed the species to thrive in a wide range of environments (river and lake), providing an extensive area of natural reproduction and feeding. The primary goal of this study is to understand the ecology of LCT thereby aiding resource managers in restoring the fish into the Lower Truckee River, a highly managed ecosystem with nonnative predators.  Read More...
