Test plots of two, one acre vineyards will be established in Schurz, Nevada in Spring 2008 in a collaborative effort of private farmers, NDOA grant, and consultations from Dr. Grant Cramer in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at UNR.

Currently, we are awaiting finial approval of the grant from the USDA.

More information and pictures will become available on this project as it advances. It is our goal to give the public as much information as possible on the progess and pitfalls found in the establishment of these test plots. We will be planting six varieities that have been shown to have the most promise for quality wine on a commercial level. These varieties are:

Lemberger (red)

Merlot (red)

Cabernet Sauvignon (red)

White Riesling (white)

Gewurztraminer (white)

Chardonnay (white)

stay tuned for more information and pictures!!!
