Current research projects include:
- Revegetation of constructed meadow channels using sedge plugs
- Riparian capability as defined by environmental and physical attributes of forested streams
- Use of western juniper as a barrier to wildlife herbivory of young willow plants
- Winterfat ecology and restoration of degraded winterfat sites
- Livestock performance relative to winter grazing of winterfat range
- State-and-transition modeling of one-seed juniper encroached rangelands in New Mexico
- Winter grazing, sage grouse habitat and insect populations
