Attention NGC Users
In November 2006 we introduced our new dnaTools server at the Nevada Genomics Center.  Since then, all sequencing and fragment analysis samples have been run through the new server.  We have kept our old Finch server up and running for the past year so that you could access any data generated prior to November 2006.  However, as of June 30, 2008 the Finch server will no longer be accessible.  On July 1st we will be reformatting that computer and you will no longer be able to retrieve any old data.  Therefore it is vital that all your data on the Finch server should be downloaded to your lab computer prior to June 30, 2008.

Please see our Services page for descriptions of these and other support services offered by the NGC.

From single sample reactions to 10,000 sample EST projects, we can help generate your research data.  The NGC currently services over 70 individual laboratories in the state of Nevada and over 80 additional laboratories from across the United States.  We are always happy to add new clients so feel free to contact us with questions about our services and pricing.

The NGC was established in 2000 with NSF EPSCoR funding and is located on the University of Nevada, Reno campus under the direction of the Vice President for Research. The NGC is a component of the Nevada IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE).

The equipment used at the NGC includes:

  • Applied Biosystems Prism 3730 DNA Analyzer
  • Applied Biosystems Prism 7000 Sequence Detection System
  • Affymetrix GeneChip 3000 7G Scanner, Hybridization, and Fluidics System
  • Perkin Elmer ScanArray 4000 Microarray Scanner
  • Qiagen 3000 Bio Robot 3000 Liquid Handling System
  • Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer
