• Gains and Losses:  Soil Nutrients and Moisture in Aridic Soils Under Changing Climates

• Workshop: Interpreting and Measuring Indicators of Rangeland Health
  May 13-16:  Jornada Experimental Range in Las Cruces, NM
  June 10-13:  Wyoming, training site to be determined
  Course content is identical for both locations. Course begins Tuesday 8AM and ends Friday noon. The course includes application of Interpreting Indicators of Rangeland Health, reference sheet development, ecological site identification and supplementary quantitative measurements. • Summer Graduate Class in “Soil degradation, erosion and restoration”

  Aim is a comprehensive and state-of-the-art understanding of soil erosion, land degradation, means to stop erosion and restore degraded lands.  Course held June 8-18 2008 in Reykjavik, Iceland

   

• Biological Systems Simulation Group
  Conference

  The 38th Biological Systems Simulation Group Conference will be held in Temple, TX on 8-10 April 2008. The title of the conference is: Applying Basic Science to Challenges in Energy Supply and Natural Resources Conservation.

   

• Rangeland Resources Institute at Colorado State University

  The Rangeland Resources Institute has been formed at CSU to better meet the needs of rangeland managers, ranchers, researchers and agencies working to sustain worldwide rangeland resources.

   

• Research Insights in Semiarid Ecosystems (RISE) Symposium

  Recent results from the USDA-ARS Walnut Gulch Experimental Watershed, the University of Arizona Santa Rita Experimental Range, and other field areas will be presented.  University of Arizona, Tucson AZ. - October 7, 2006.
   

• 2007 SRM International Travel Fellowship

  SRM anticipates awarding one International Travel Fellowship to support attendance at the SRM 2007 Annual Meeting by rangeland scientist or manager from developing countries. - Applications due 15 September 2006
