ACADEMIC & RESEARCH INTEREST
Evaluation of growth patterns of major pasture and range plants, Evaluation of the National Research Council's Beef Cow Dietary Recommendations, Modeling of the cow-calf operation, Selenium deficient cattle diets, Mineral supplementation and Computerized dietary calculations.
 
COURSES & TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES

Formal teaching activities include development and teaching the minerals portion of the graduate level Vitamins and Minerals class (ASC 783). 

Teaching activities also include the 4-hour class (3+3) in Advanced Nutrition Management (ASC 406, 606) as well as serving on graduate committees.

 
COMMUNITY SERVICE

Activities as State Extension Livestock Specialist include programs in the following areas:

  • Proper feeding of livestock bullet Heifer development
  • Nutritional management for reproductive ability by body condition score
  • Three tiered marketing (including ranch to rail programs)
  • Replacement cow cost evaluation bullet Programs on accessing and using the Internet and computers on the ranch.
