Exams, Quizzes, Group Projects, and Reports

There will be 2 mid-terms worth 100 pts each, one final worth 200 pts and 10 quizzes (10 minutes long) worth 10 pts each. All quizzes will be in the first 10 min of each Fri lecture unless announced otherwise in a previous lecture. In total, there are 500 possible pts in the class. Graduate students will required to submit an additional paper, which is due at the end of the semester.

Grades

All grades will be based upon a % of the highest score obtained on the exam or quiz and the course grade will be based upon cumulative points throughout the semester.

A+ = 97 to 100% of top score
A = 93 to 96
A- = 90 to 92
B+ = 87 to 89
B = 83 to 86
B- = 80 to 82
C+ = 77 to 79
C = 73 to 76
C- = 70 to 72
D+ = 67 to 69
D = 63 to 66
D- = 60 to 62
F = below 60%

Email Bonus Points

After each class, a question will be submitted to you via email. The question will pertain to something discussed in the class. If you answer correctly within 24 h of the end of class, you will get a bonus point.
